Overview of School Day
Start of Day
School gates open at 8:35am. Children walk in to school from their appropriate Key Stage playground from 8.45am and make their own way to class.
If you drive your children to school, please be courteous of our local residents and refrain from parking across their drives or anywhere that may restrict access. Please do not park your cars on the zig zag lines outside of school.
The bell rings at 8.55am for the start of registration, at which point pupils should be in their classrooms, and doors and gates will be locked.
Late arrivers must enter by the front door and be signed in by a parent on the electronic system.
If you need to speak with the class teacher it is best to arrange an appointment. Please contact the school office, in person or by telephone, by 9.30am.
End of Day
Children should be collected at 3.15 p.m. from designated exit doors around the school. At the beginning of the school year, parents / carers are asked to complete a form stating who is authorised to collect their child; these should be amended as necessary. A register is kept of children not collected on time.
NB We have no facility to care for children after school other than our after-school club. Only children who have been registered with the club can use its facilities subject to the appropriate notice of attendance and payment.
Grestone’s Extended School
Committed to supporting working parents, Grestone has two forms of child-care facilities, which operate before and after the school day.
Grestone’s Breakfast Club has been successfully running since February 2005 and allows children to start their school day in an enjoyable way. For a daily or weekly fee children can enjoy a range of activities and a selection of breakfasts.
Grestone’s Breakfast Club starts at 7.45am.
Grestone also has an After School Club, BEST1. The After School Club starts at 3.15pm until 6.00pm.
Further information for both clubs are available from the school office.
